Practicing Structuralist or Deconstructive Theory. Due by Day 7. This week, you have had an in-depth look into two literary theories: Structuralist and Deconstructive Theory.
Choose one of the following topics:
• Compose a Structuralist analysis of “London,” by William Blake (p. 129). Use the appropriate vocabulary
suggested for this critical theory. You must use excerpts from the primary text and secondary sources to
support your claims.
• Compose a Deconstructuralist analysis of “Ethics,” by Linda Pastan (p. 132-133). Use the appropriate
vocabulary suggested for this critical theory. You must use excerpts from the primary text and secondary sources to support your claims.
In order to prepare for this assignment, it is suggested that you answer the “Questions” at the end of your chosen poem.
The paper must be three to four pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according the APA style. You must use three secondary sources to support your claims and sub-claims. It is recommended that these come from JSTOR within the Ashford Online Library but you can also use critical articles from other sources upon your instructor’s approval.
