Reading Response to a Poem. After reading Chapter 24 and selected pages from Chapter 25, select one poem from Chapter 25. Analyze the selected poem by exploring the poem’s theme and significance, examining of poetic quality or technique in shaping the meaning of the text, and describing of the reader’s experience of the poem (e.g., use and effect of irony or symbolism). Within the analysis provide supporting details that center on textual evidence address poetic qualities discussed in Chapters 24 and 25, such as voice and tone. With the secondary source that you selected for this week’s first discussion prompt, support your analysis of your selected poem. You may also support your ideas with quotes from the course text, but you should use at least one source found from a subject guide, too.
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 7.
